Are your weathervanes made of copper?

Yes, all of our weathervanes - the hand-made in Maine weathervanes and the manufactured weathervanes you find over the internet are all made of copper. Our weathervanes come with brass directionals, two copper balls, and a rod. A brass and stainless steel rod is included with standard weathervanes and a steel rod is included with the garden weathervanes.

What comes with my weathervane?

Full size weathervanes include the figure - a large and small copper ball - brass directionals - brass rod with brass ring.

Garden Weathervanes include the figure - a large and small copper ball - brass directionals - rod - roof mount.

What will happen to my weathervane's shiny finish?

The copper weathervane will react to the elements of the weather and will slowly turn from a reddish-brown natural copper color to a darker brownish-black and eventually to the natural green patina finish. This process starts almost immediately with exposure to the elements and can take up to 10 years or so to complete - much depends on the weather conditions in your area.

Do I need mounting hardware if I have a cupola?

Our cupolas come ready to install a weathervane and mounting hardware is NOT needed. If an existing cupola is being used - a 3/4" hole (for standard size weathervanes) must be drilled in the center of the cupola roof and a secure brace must be inside the cupola with a 3/4" hole in the center of the board.

How are your weathervanes and cupola shipped?

Most weathervanes and cupolas are shipped by UPS ground. We also use the USPS and Fed EX Freight when needed.

How long does it take to get my weathervane?

Our answer is typically 4-7 days before your order is shipped from our factory, but most order are shipped out within just a few days of receiving the order. The exceptions are some of our larger cupolas or anything not currently in stock. If there is going to be a delay in shipment - you will be notified.
